JudgeCast #9 – Interview with the L5

Riki and Sean have a special guest this time, Toby Elliott, one of four Level 5 judges in the world! Toby discusses the new edition of the Magic Infraction Procedure Guidelines in depth, as he’s known as the “policy guy” for the DCI and a primary editor for the MIPG. Together, they traverse listeners’ queries, both simple and complex, eventually arriving at the extremes of “What happens when the rules of the game don’t cover an interaction between cards?” They also discuss how the MIPG gets made and what goes into the process of editing it.

Toby also chooses a question from a listener to serve as our newest contest question! The best answer will win you a draft set, so listen up and send us your answers (and more rules questions!).
